We've recently added a pair of Chinese Geese to our home flock. This breed, like its cousin the African Goose, is descended from the wild swan goose (Anser cygnoides) which has breeding grounds in eastern Russia, Mongolia, and China. The rest of the world's domestic breeds are descended from the European Greylag (Anser anser). The Chinese goose lays 50-60 eggs during the breeding season which runs from February to June. We're hoping to breed from this pair.
